John August is an American screenwriter and film director who is best known for his recent work with director Tim Burton. John August was born on August 4th, 1970 in Boulder, Colorado and attended both Drake University in Iowa, earning a degree in journalism, and the University of Southern California, where he received an MFA in film from the Peter Stark program. August’s first major project was 1999's Go, which he both wrote and co-produced. His other screenwriting projects include Don Bluth's Titan AE, Charlie's Angels, and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. His working relationship with Tim Burton, includes writing Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, and the upcoming Frankenweenie. August is currently the executive producer of Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time, due in 2010.
