bio

Anthony Edwards has been a professional actor since the age of nineteen. A California native, Edwards studied theatre at University of Southern California but dropped out due to the amount of acting work he received. The comedy “Return of the Nerds” marked his first starring role portraying Gilbert Lowe. Two years later Edwards acted opposite Tom Cruise as "Goose" in the blockbuster “Top Gun.” He continued to act in movies and television dramas but one show made him a household name and that was the long-running TV series “ER” where he played Dr. Mark Greene, for which he won many awards including a Golden Globe Award For Best Performance by an Actor-In a TV Series. His most recent film work includes roles in David Fincher's “Zodiac” and Katherine Dieckmann's “Motherhood,” opposite Uma Thurman.
